J/ -{..-,, ":\ ,.^ Attached are new classifications No. B5B and No. 838, describing the class of work and level of responsibility of Fire Dispatcher II and Police Radio Dispatcher II The classification of dispatcher has been under review by the Personnel Departrnent for sorne tirne. In all other special divisions of the Fire and Police Depart- rnents, the new classification systern established gradation in class in order to cornpen- sate and describe increased levels of responsibility, experience, and supervision. It is necessary, therefore, to apply this classification systern uniforrnly so as to fulfill the intent of the systern. In order to uniforrnly apply the systern to the Dispatcher classification, entry level personnel should be classified as Dispatcher I and the salary range would rernain the sarne. It is recornrnended that new classifications for Fire Dispatcher II and Police Radio Dispatcher II be established for the rnore experienced ernployees. As a result of the need to uniforrnly apply the classification systern, cornpensate for supervision and training, it is the adrninistrationf s recornrnendation that the following be irnplernented: \ ' Realignrnent of the personnel schedule in Fire Account 47 with six Dispatcher I's .- and four Dispatcher IIts rather than ten Dispatcher Its. A new classification of Fire . Dispatcher II, No. 858, Range 255, be established retroactive to January l, 1969 f.or a budget effect of $600. The salary range No. 255 for Fire Dispatcher II is the sarre range as a Fire Apparatus Driver. Realignrnent of personnel schedule in Police Account 43 with nine Dispatcher Irs and four Dispatcher IIrs rather than thirteen Dispatcher Irs. A new classification of Po1ice Radio Dispatcher II, No. B3B, Range 255, be established retroactive to January 1, 1969 f.or a budget effect of $600.
