Public Works Supervision, in concurrence with the Personnel Departrnent, has developed reorganization plans for the Street Maintenance Division that will provide the necessary supervision. This can be accornplished by reclassifying one Forernan III position, Class Code 3527, Salary Range 218, to Pub1ic Works Supervisor, Class Code 3530, S;rlary P.ange ZZZ. Prornotion of the encurnbent ernployee would rrrean an additional expenditure of $90 for the rernainder of the fiscal year and would elirninate the need for additional personnel. Funds are available in tlne ZZ and 80 General Accounts. It is the recornrnendation of this office that the resolution approving the reorganization of the Pub1ic Works Street Maintenance Division and the reclassification of one Forernan III position to Public Works Supervisor, be adopted. -! Ross City Manager Attachrnent J, RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the number of newly developed areas in the City'has created the need for additional supervision of the street cleaning, grading, and patching crews, and. WHEREAS, the Public Works Director/CLty Engineer has developed reorganization plans that will provide the nJcessary supervision by reclassifying (I) Foreman III position Class Code 3527, Salary Range 2L8, to Public Works Supervisor, C1ass Code 3530, Salary Range 222, and, WHEREAS, the Administrative Staff has reviewed this classification along with the Personnel Director and the Finance Director and concur in reorganization of the Public Works Street llaintenance Division and the reclassification of one position, an3' WHEREAS, the City Council has the sole authority and responsibility to approve such actions concerning the expenditure of funds not approved in the presently adopted budget, and WHEREAS, the funds for this action are available within the present limitations of the FY71-72 budget, and WHEREAS, this action is deemed to be in.the best in- terest of the City in that it would provide better and more effective services to the public; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the personnel actions and appropriation requested. in the attached communication is approved and the City Manager is directed to process the budgetary appropriations in accordance with State Laws concerning Excise Board consideration.
