EMERGENCY ORDINANCE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKLAHOMA CITY: sEcrroN 1. ch apter 2, Article l, Section 2-303(c) of the Oklahoma City Code, L970, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2-303. Definitions. (a) ELected official shall nean any officer duly elected by the citizens of the City. (b) Employee shall mean an official or employee of any department of the City whos e employment is of a permanent nature and eligible for retirement benefits under the provisions of Article V, Division I ofr his Chapter; excluding elected offi cials and member so,f the Police and Fire Departments eligible for re tir eme nt benefits under the provisions of ArticLe V, Div 151on 5 of this Chapter. (c) Longevity base shall be t52S. OO per montn for management enplovees and $ 525.00 per month for all other emplole€q. (d) Length of service shall mean all service with the City prior to July I, 1959, except a break of ser- vice credits towards longevity except military leave, as covered by Federal and State law, or other approved leaves of absence. SECTION 2. E!{ERGENCY. WHEREAS , it being immediately neces- sary for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety of Oklahoma City and the inhabitants thereof that the provisions of this ordinance be put into full force and effectr dn emergency is hereby declared to exist by reason whereof this ordinance shall take effect and be put in fulI force from and after its passage, as provided by Iaw.
