Water and, Serer Department Water & Sewer Department On September 2J, 1966, the City Cor:ncil authorizecl the Water Department to erqgloy sfx (6) teuporary clebks for a period. of two (2) nonths Ln an effort to al,Ieviatl ttre backlog of work in the bl1ling of utility services in the Utilities Office Divlston. 4gatn on December IJ, l%6, a one-month extension for continued eurployment of five (5) temporary clerks for one aclditional- nonth was approved for the same purpose. Ttre administrative people in the Water Departnent have made an erchaustive study of the situation in evaluating what must be done on a permanent basis to remove the backlog and keep current on this important operation.
